A residential road on the eastern side of Whiteley, Nuthatch Road runs close to the retained woodland that borders the development. The proximity to mature trees and green space gives properties on this road a more rural outlook than the central streets. The nuthatch, a small woodland bird that climbs down tree trunks head first, is a fitting namesake for a street that backs onto established oak and hazel woodland. The road connects to the footpath network and provides access to the woodland walks that are one of Whiteley's best features.
