The main spine road running through Whiteley from the M27 Junction 9 roundabout northwards through the development. Whiteley Way carries the majority of traffic entering and leaving the town, connecting the shopping centre, residential areas and business park to the motorway. The road is dual carriageway in sections and has roundabout junctions with the estate roads. It is the single most important road in Whiteley and is busy during commuter hours and at weekends when shoppers arrive at the retail centre. Plans for the North Whiteley expansion include extending and improving the road network to handle the additional traffic from 3,500 new homes.
