Solent Business Park welcomes first occupiers

Solent Business Park, the commercial component of the Whiteley development, welcomed its first major occupiers in the early 1990s. The park was designed to provide high-quality office space in a landscaped setting, attracting corporate headquarters and regional offices to the M27 corridor. Early tenants included financial services firms, insurance companies and professional services businesses, drawn by the motorway access, the modern facilities and the availability of skilled workers in the south Hampshire area. The business park grew to become one of the largest employment centres in the sub-region, providing jobs for Whiteley residents and for commuters from the wider area.
