New secondary school approved for North Whiteley

2025

Hampshire County Council received planning approval for a new secondary school in North Whiteley, replacing Henry Cort Community College in Fareham. The school is planned to open in September 2027 with capacity for 900 pupils, expandable to 1,200. The new school will serve the children of the North Whiteley development and the wider Whiteley community, providing secondary education within the town for the first time. Previously, Whiteley children have attended secondary schools in Fareham, Locks Heath and other nearby towns. The provision of a local secondary school is seen as essential to making North Whiteley a self-contained community.
