Solent Business Park
Major employment hub with corporate offices set in landscaped grounds
One of the largest business parks in south Hampshire, Solent Business Park occupies the eastern side of Whiteley, between the main residential areas and the M27. The park was developed from the mid-1980s as part of the original Whiteley masterplan, providing employment space alongside the new housing. Major occupiers have included Zurich Insurance, Lloyds Banking Group, Prudential Assurance, Datacard and a range of professional services firms. The buildings are modern, set in landscaped grounds with parking, and the park has its own road network connecting to Junction 9. The business park provides significant local employment and reduces the need for residents to commute long distances. There are also cafes, sandwich shops and a gym serving the workforce. The park is a defining feature of Whiteley's economy, distinguishing it from purely residential developments.
