Leisure and recreation hub with swimming pool, gym and popular playground

The area around Meadowside Leisure Centre and the adjacent parks and play areas forms one of Whiteley's main recreational zones. Meadowside Leisure Centre offers a swimming pool, gym, fitness classes, sports hall and soft play area, and is one of the most used community facilities in the town. The surrounding open space includes Meadowside Play Park, one of the larger and better-equipped playgrounds in the area, popular with families at weekends and during school holidays. The area connects to the path and cycle network that runs through Whiteley, linking to the shopping centre and the residential neighbourhoods. Meadowside is the closest thing Whiteley has to a traditional village green, a place where families gather, children play and the community meets informally.
