Herbs Quarter
Central residential neighbourhood with herb-named streets and green spaces
The Herbs Quarter is the informal name for the cluster of residential streets in central Whiteley named after herbs and spices. Marjoram Way, Saffron Way, Rosemary Gardens, Coriander Way and similar names give this area a distinctive character that reflects the planners' approach to creating identity within a new development. The housing is predominantly family homes, with a mix of detached and semi-detached properties set along curving streets with footpath connections between them. The area surrounds several of Whiteley's smaller green spaces and play areas, and it connects to the main footpath and cycle routes that run through the town. Residents in the Herbs Quarter are within walking distance of the shopping centre, the primary schools and the leisure centre, making it one of the most convenient parts of Whiteley for families.
